Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting includes learning the risks of fire & their prevention, use of fire fighting equipment, responding to emergencies and fighting & extinguishing fires. The course includes extensive practical sessions on our on-site fire fighting facilities.
The STCW Basic Refresher training takes place over 3 days and is delivered through a combination of theory and hands-on exercises with focus on the practical elements of training.
Sea survival theory sessions are taught in the dedicated Red Ensign classrooms. The course also comprises a supervised compulsory liferaft launch, inversion and entry as well as individual and group based swimming activities in a secured area in the river in front of our training premises.
Fire fighting uses real smoke, fire and breathing apparatus along with fire hoses and extinguishers in our purpose built fire fighting training facility. Candidates’ competence is assessed through their active participation during the practical session and with a test at the end of the module.
