Introduction to Interior Service

The Crew Network Antibes is launching an innovative e-learning course targeted towards superyacht crew, Introduction to Interior Service.

Dedicated to actively promoting a global standard of excellence through quality training of superyacht crew, The Crew Network Antibes has developed a new online study course. A team of Subject Matter Experts coordinated by The Crew Network authored this induction course, drawing on their long-term experience and knowledge from both the luxury yachting and the luxury cruise line sectors.

The “Introduction to Interior Service” e-learning course was developed in partnership with the UK-based training brand, Marlins, a global leader in instruction and assessment for the maritime industry, specialising in interactive e-learning content development.  The result is an effective and highly engaging learning product.

Course content is aimed at interior crew who are new to the superyacht sector, portraying a realistic picture of yachting life and interior duties through a series of modules including housekeeping, types of table service, flower arranging, sommeliery and hygiene.  The average study time is 7 hours and concludes with a final assessment, enabling individuals to check their knowledge and receive a Certificate of Completion.

Joey Meen of the Professional Yachting Association (PYA) comments ‘As a program it offers a great insight to the level of knowledge required on board for new interior crew. It's a great modern-day information guide with the added value of fun interactive elements.

Bertrand Petyt, Director of Operations for a Monaco-based Leisure company comments ’I am always keen to utilise innovative, efficient and progressive tools to recruit, train and develop our on-board teams and ensure a superior service delivery to our Guests and Owners. The Crew Network Interior Service on-line training is one of the most advanced programs available in the yachting industry today. The friendly, interactive approach of this on-line training system ensures that crew members acquire a wealth of information as well as tips, systems, procedures, ideas to render their tasks more focused and efficient. Overall a fantastic training support tool, well needed in an industry where luxury service is a must.’

The new Interior Service e-learning course can be purchased via the Marlins online shop which links seamlessly into the Marlins Learning Management System.  The benefit of having an online course is that crew can study at their convenience, anywhere in the world.
