House Assistant/ Manny/ Deck Hand

We are an active family with boys ages 10-14 who enjoy a variety of sports and outdoor activities. We live in a household that values teamwork, initiative, and mutual support. Our home environment is busy and dynamic, with regular activities both on land and water.

Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, responsible, and versatile Manny/Nanny who can provide childcare, activity coordination, and household support. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable organizing sports activities, managing schedules, and assisting with household operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Childcare & Activities

• Provide attentive care and supervision for two boys (ages 10 and 13/14)
• Encourage and participate in physical activities and sports specifically including:
• Lacrosse
• Soccer
• Football
• Basketball
• Hockey
• Skiing
• Snowboarding
• Surfing
• Fishing
• Spear fishing
• Diving
• Water skiing
• Wakeboarding
• Tubing
• Motivate children to engage in outdoor play and physical activities when they might prefer screen time
• Supervise swimming in pool and ocean settings
• Balance nurturing support with appropriate discipline and structure
• Boating & Water Activities
• Assist during regular family boating excursions on our 58' vessel
• Demonstrate competence in basic boating operations including docking assistance
• Capable of taking the wheel when required
• Ensure safety during all water-based activities
• Organization & Household Support
• Manage and coordinate children's schedules (school, sports, activities, appointments)
• Assist with household organization and various errands
• Work collaboratively with other household staff as part of our house team
• Contribute to overall household operations beyond direct childcare duties, such as: window washing, teak cleaning, patio cleaning, organizing toys including water toys, cleaning cars, etc. 

Qualifications & Attributes

• Prior experience working with children ages 10-14 a plus
• Strong swimming abilities and comfort in water environments
• Boating experience required
• Knowledge of and interest in multiple sports, particularly those listed above
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Balance of empathy and authority in childcare approach
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Self-motivated with a proactive work ethic
• Team player mentality who thrives in collaborative environments
• Ability to anticipate needs and take initiative without constant direction
