Private Chef for Family in Central Milan | EU Passport/Right to work only

Overview

A full-time Private Chef is required to join our client's private household and work closely with the family and staff. The role involves preparing healthy and nutritious meals, primarily for a family of three, plus their nanny.

The chef will need to prepare and present meals in a formal dining setting, with occasional catering for dinner parties or events when the family entertains guests. Notice will be given for larger gatherings.

The ideal candidate should focus on nutrition, using fresh and organic ingredients, and no use of frozen or tinned foods. Weekly menus will be created and approved by the principals to minimise waste, with a preference for Italian, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisines (Indian, Japanese).

This is a salaried position, but during periods when the family is not in residence, the chef will have downtime or the opportunity to pursue other short-term work. There will also be periods of full support required when the family is in residence for extended periods.

Job duties

Responsibilities of the Private Chef in Milan include:

Create weekly menus, tailored to the family's preferences
Grocery shopping for fresh and organic ingredients
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
Prepare and cook nutritious meals for two adults and a young child
Travel between properties to provide consistent support

Candidates must be/have:

Strong understanding of dietary needs and nutrition
Previous experience as a Private Chef in a similar role
Located within commuting distance from the Brera district in Milan
Expertise in Italian, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisines (Indian, Japanese)
A trustworthy, long-term candidate looking to grow with the family

Accommodation

This is a live-out role, but accommodation can be provided for the right candidate.

Hours

11:00 - 22:00, six days a week.

There are set mealtimes for lunch and a 9:00 PM evening meal provide structure to the role.

Location

Near Brera district, Milan.

Salary

€70,000 - 80,000, based on experience.
