1st Mate 30m Private MY – Auckland & Pacific

Are you an energetic 1st Mate/Deck with fishing or diving skills?

Are you looking to call Auckland home for the next 1.5-2 years?

A high profile, well run private yacht is looking for a new 1st Mate to join their professional program
The yacht arrived earlier in the year from Europe and will looking to be based out of Auckland for the next 1.5-2 years, with trips throughout NZ and the South Pacific Islands

There is a preference from the owner for the crew to live ashore whilst the yacht is in Auckland (therefore candidates should have their own accommodation in Auckland)

The yacht undertakes a relaxed family orientated cruising schedule.

There is a particular focus on fishing and diving with this vessel and candidates with experience or qualifications in this area will be highly considered

The Mate will be comfortable with a blended role (Some engineering duties) looking to take ownership of his/her department.

The yacht will also operate a 32’ Intrepid that the Mate/Deck should be comfortable driving

The yacht is looking for very experienced candidates and will pay accordingly to qualifications and experience

After the 2-year program the yacht will travel out to Europe

The Ideal Candidate

• Mate or Deckhand experience on Superyachts
• Some engineering experience preferred
• Power Boat Level 2 minimum, comfortable driving tenders
• Flexible on ticket requirement
• Experience with Fishing & Diving would be advantageous
• Good technical aptitude
• Own Accommodation in Auckland
• Will offer a firm commitment for 1-2 years

Start– 1-2 weeks

Salary– Depending on Experience $6,000-$8,000 NZ / Month DOE
