A 77FT Sailing Catamaran is looking for an Engineer / Mate & Chef Couple.

Incredible itinerary staying around French Polynesia for a few seasons. The owners are super nice and easy going, interested in finding the best dive locations around the world. The vessel also does charters in the area if owners are not around. We sleeps up to 8 guests and we run with 4 crew. You will join be joined by the Captain and Stew team. There will be long passages, lots of diving and very unique locations.
The ideal candidates will not just fulfill their roles, but also have a passion for the ocean and all that what French Polynesia has to offer.

Engineer / Mate:

Engineer skills preferred over deck skills. This position is open to experienced sailors who have knowledge of heavy load handling and are able to confidently lead a watch. When not sailing the Mate / Engineer needs to be able to maintain the engineering and deck, this role is shared with the Captain. The deck side is straightforward so prefer someone with strong engineering skills. The vessel is fairly new with many electrical ‘experiments’ onboard so good electrical knowledge is a must. Whilst on charter you will be assisting with diving, running water sports and doing tender runs. Water sports includes maintaining and setting up fishing equipment, diving gear, paddle boards and towables like wakeboards, tubes and foils. You will also need to support with service tasks such as clearing tables and washing dishes. You need to be an organised individual. A very positive attitude and a love for the ocean will serve you well.

Chef

We are seeking someone dynamic with exceptional culinary experience, who is well versed in all cuisines, Asian flavours will be a bonus. The owners enjoy uncomplicated yet delicious food with a bit of a kick, and as a smaller boat, personal touches and presentation are key. Charters will keep you busy and experience with dietary restricted meals is a must. Great communication skills within the team, the ability to adapt and work under pressure, and an approachable personality for guest interaction are essential. Time management and ability to forward plan are essential to balance working under the pressure of a charter galley whilst helping out on deck and in the interior in between.
The right candidate needs to be motivated, organized and prepared for remote cruising. Provisioning in stores with no English labels is a good skill to have as it is mainly French. An interest in sourcing local produce at markets is a bonus with the yacht’s itinerary.
The Chef will also be part of watch schedules on deliveries, so sailing experience is a bonus, and ability and willingness to learn about sailing is a must. Off charter the Chef also assists on deck when needed.
