Chef Garde Manger opportunity for busy 100m+ Private M/Y

Start Date: November, 2019

Location:    TBA

Package:   Competitive Salary;  122 days leave 2 return flights to Homeport per year.     

Experience and Attributes Required:

  • At least two years’ experience on a yacht or cruise ship in a similar role and restaurants experience
  • Specialization in food and ice sculpting
  • Assisting with preparation, the maintenance of cleanliness and high standards of hygiene in the galley, mess rooms, pantries and storerooms
  • Should be a good all-rounder who is not afraid to help out in other areas of the galley
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work well under pressure. Remain calm and courteous at all times
  • Enthusiasm, willingness to learn and a positive attitude
  • Flexibility is essential
  • Good grasp of English is a must
  • Team player
  • Attention to detail
  • To perform other duties as directed by Head Chef
  • Culinary school diploma or certificate
  • There is a possibility to grow

Qualifications Required:

  • Certified Culinary Trained Chef Degree or Ship's Cook Certificate
  • STCW (all updated)
  • Security Awareness or Designated Security Duties Certificate
  • Seafarer’s Medical Certificate (Min 6 months validity)
  • Seaman’s Discharge Book (mandatory)
  • Crisis and Crowd Management (mandatory)
  • Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2
  • Vaccination card with Yellow Fever and Hep B vaccines

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
