Lead Deckhand / Tender Captain – 36m Charter/Private – Sydney & East Coast

• $65,000-$70,000 AUD + Super (DOE)

A 36m charter yacht is on the search for an experienced lead deckhand to join their upcoming program
The yacht is in survey but will only take the occasional charter, with cruising mostly consisting of low-key private use, with owner and friends

As the yacht maintains a permanent base in Sydney the Lead Deckhand will have the option to live ashore, however crew can live onboard if preferred.
The Lead Deckhand will be extremely hands-on and can assist all areas of deck function including, washdowns, anchoring, docking, bridge watches, watersports & crane operation
The Lead Deckhand will also act as the tender captain, maintaining a new chase boat/tender that will be used to support the primary vessel
The captain is also about upskilling crew and is open to mentoring the lead deckhand in large boat drive time & vessel handling
Terrific Inner-city home port location, with super relaxed (but professional) captain & personable owner

The yacht will spend roughly 9- 10 months in Sydney / year with a few months away up the east coast over the winter months

The yacht is also couple friendly and would consider candidates partnered with a Stewardess (must have work rights for Australia)

The Ideal Candidate

• Deckhand experience on Superyachts
• STCW & seafarer medical
• Recreational Tender licence (or can obtain)
• Tender driving experience
• Looking to work on Australian tickets (Coxswains/Master 5)
• Super keen & Super hands on
• Terrific allrounder
• Can lead junior deckhand by example
• Personable approach to owners and guests
• Some overseas superyacht experience (preferred)
• Any additional skill sets will be highly considered eg (Personal trainer, dive instructor, Jet ski instructor, water sport skills ect )
• PWC (or can obtain)
• Full work rights for Australia or NZ

Start Date– Late June 2019 (with some flexibility)

Salary– $65,000-$70,000 AUD + Super / Year
