We have a position available to work for a VIP employer to manager his London residence. It is a full-time live-in role. You will have your own private bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The position suits a single person.

Efficiency and proven experience to a high standard is required, so your CV needs to demonstrate prior experience in a similar role (at least 5 years) as you will be expected to be a self-starter who knows how to approach all aspects of the role in an expert fashion.

This position will suit candidates who are hard-working and have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage their time, and that of the other staff, effectively.

General duties will include:

  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, conduct and safety.
  • Establish standards and procedures for the housekeeping staff.
  • Assign other domestic workers their duties and inspect their work to ensure it meets the prescribed standards.
  • Coordinate work, attendance/rosters and activities of household staff members (approx. 5-7 staff). Prepare lists of work assignments and ensure that your staff understand the scope of their work. Be their mentor!
  • Coordinate maintenance and service providers (contractors) as may be required for house, garden and pool maintenance.
  • Maintain inventories and stock to ensure adequate supplies including kitchen supplies (as the chef may need assistance in coordinating purchases)
  • Select and purchase new furnishings, accessories, tools, etc as required.
  • Run errands, pay utility bills, shop for groceries and incidentals, as required.
  • Ensure that the house is properly secured and looked after whilst the family members are away.
  • Keep accounts and budgets for the running of the house.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks and duties as requested.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a CV that proves their experience and supports their suitability for the role
  • Practice confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Be well-presented and well-mannered with a positive outlook
  • Be flexible, organised and versatile
  • Be familiar with correct cleaning and laundry procedures and be able to train and mentor the junior staff
  • At least three recent references
  • Have a valid First Aid certificate (an advantage)
  • Have a recent Police check
  • Have experience with children of school age (having your Working With Children card)

Hours: Full-time. Monday to Friday approx. 8:30am until 5:30pm

Salary: The salary offered will be commensurate with your experience. UK working conditions apply.

Start date: as soon as the right candidate is found.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
